Information for Parents:

Food Allergies: If your child has food allergies that will affect their ability to eat the prepared meals at camp (i.e. gluten, dairy, etc), we request that you contact our head cook Tricia Ford (660-868-1046) no later than a week before camp to discuss options for meals and snack time. We will not be able to make adjustments after this time for individual dietary needs.

Defeating Homesickness: Homesickness spreads quickly from parent to child. We have found that many times parents are homesick for their children, while the children are fine. But, if a homesick parent calls or visits a child who is not homesick, the child soon becomes homesick. For this reason, we discourage phone calls and visits with parents/siblings. If a child does get homesick, we will try our best to keep them involved in the activities of the camp and hope that it will pass. If it does not pass, we will allow your child to call you. If your child does not call, this is the best sign that things are great!

Say encouraging things as you leave. This can be the most helpful tool in defeating homesickness.
